Real Training with Real Horses

Training Journals doesn’t show just one kind of horse or one discipline of riding, because that’s now what I do. In my job as a trainer, I focus on behavior problems vs prepping horses for competition. This means I get all kinds of horses in, from young Thoroughbreds to Gaited Trail Horses, to ponies and big drafts.

You get to watch key sessions with these horses, as well as track their progress over time.  

Here are a few of the horses that you’ll meet in Training Journals

Raleigh - a Draft Cross with a troubled past
Stewie - a young & boisterous TB Cross
Big Boy - 17.3hh at 3 years old! He lives up to his name - quiet young gelding started under saddle
Zelli - the 2 year old TB who barely led & had a kicking habit
Red Rider - Kentucky Mountain Horse in for trail training
Winter - the child's pony who needed to change his opinion of people before going home to his big family
Tommy - the Gypsy Vanner needing strength to carry a rider and stay straight
Francine - the Pygmy Goat... and a few other animals I couldn't help but have some fun with

Horse Care Short Courses

While watching the videos of the horses here in training, you’ll notice something else… I often look at other factors of the horse’s behavior – their saddle, their fitness, what they are eating, how they are managed and more.

In order for you to better understand what I’m looking at, we’ve developed a number of short courses, compiling information from across the industry and bringing in other professionals to talk about topics such as:
